The inspiration for Windspirit Charters, LLC came after the events of 9/11 forced the realization that life is short and sometimes tests the limits of the human spirit - which is resilient and often prevails in the most difficult circumstances. Sometimes the spirit needs recharging and the best place for that is in nature - in the wind - on the ocean. "Windspirit", Maine Cat Hull #48 was commissioned and after a successful sea trial off the Maine Coast in the summer of 2003 was delivered to Hopetown, Elbow Cay, Abacos, Bahamas where she had a sucsessful 4 year stint as a spirit therapist in the Maine Cat Charters fleet. In her first year she was lucky enough to weather 3 hurricanes- Isabel, Frances and Jeanne (to the point de-gaussing to reduce hurricane magnetism was considered though in retrospect this trinity was her christening).She recently relocated to Naples, Florida where she will be dedicated to bareboat and day charters - and hopefully recharge a few more spirits - on the sea, in the wind.
